Inhale (Yodh)
Exhale (He)
Inhale (Waw)
Exhale (He)
This insightful and revelatory article “Is the Name of God the Sound of our Breathing?” is a very interesting read. It adds another dimension to my understanding of the simplicity and profundity of the name of God as being the sound of our breathing. It is as simple as our breathing, yet as profound as the message of a mystic.
Perhaps this is how yoga and meditation practitioners have known all along, that deep, conscious breathing has the power to reconnect us to our true divine Self and dwell in the present moment, living in the I Am. Yes, the very act of our breathing in and breathing out is a declaration and demonstration of the truth that in Him (the I Am), we live and move and have our being.
I also like what is written here in the above-mentioned article:
“There are few better illustrations of both God’s largesse as well as his humility, his omnipresence as well as his singular intimate presence within each of us.
Breathe in. Breathe out. “He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs… the word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth…” (Romans 8:28, 10:8 The Message)”
Yes, every breath we take, He does the prayer in us and for us. Beautiful.
This verse came to mind when I was meditating on how the name of God is the sound of our breathing.
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth (or in my breath).” (Psalm 34:1)
I think this interpretation makes sense to me since our breathing is continuous, so we are continually praising Him (Divine Love, our highest self) with our breath.
“The Sound Of Our Breathing” by Jason Gray
Everybody draws their very first breath
With Your name upon their lips
Every one of us is born of dust
But come alive with heaven’s kissCause the name of God
Is the sound of our breathing
Hallelujahs rise
On the wings of our hearts beatingSo breathe in, breathe out
Speak it aloud oh oh, oh oh
The glory surrounds
This is the sound oh oh, oh ohMoses bare foot at the burning bush
Wants to know who spoke to him
The answer is unspeakable
Like the rush of a gentle windCause the name of God
Is the sound of our breathing
Hallelujahs rise
On the wings of our hearts beatingSo breathe in, breathe out
Speak it aloud oh oh, oh oh
The glory surrounds
This is the sound oh oh, oh ohIn him we live and move and have our being
We speak the name as long as we are breathing
So breathe in
Breathe out…
Breathe in
Breathe out…Cause the name of God
Is the sound of our breathing
Hallelujahs rise
On the wings of our hearts beatingSo breathe in, breathe out
Speak it aloud oh oh, oh oh
The glory surrounds
This is the sound oh oh, oh oh
[x2]Doubters and deceivers, skeptics and believers
We speak it just the same
From birth to death, every single breath
Is whispering Your name
