I received another encouraging revelation today from brother Adrian Ho via text message.
Jesus first met Peter and used his boat. Before that, Peter and his friends caught nothing for the whole night. Peter’s empty nets revealed two things:
– The nets are empty so that God can fill them. The truth is: God is positioning us to receive a harvest.
– It is also God’s way of telling us, “Have you done trying in your strength? Now let Jesus into your boat, and see Him bring success at His word.”
– Adrian Ho
Indeed, only Jesus can bring good success at His word. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows (or painful toil); for so He gives His beloved sleep.” (Psalm 127:1-2)
May we all continue to rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him, for we shall inherit the earth, and we shall delight ourselves in the abundance of peace. (Psalm 37:7-11)
Let us labour to enter into rest. Rest in Jesus’ finished work. The work has been accomplished. When we rest, the Holy Spirit will direct us and guide us, and we shall find ourselves at the right place at the right time to be blessed and be a blessing, and we shall prosper and have good success. 🙂
