I think most of the problems that we are facing in the Body of Christ stems from the fact that we are often disconnected from the Head. Nothing in the body lives outside of the Head. We all know that if our human body is separated from our head, it automatically means death in our body. We also know that all the movements of a person are governed by the head. Jesus is the Life of the Body. When we are not connected with Him and when our focus shifts on something else than the Person of Jesus, that means automatic death too (spiritually speaking). We are so busy (including ourselves) focusing on our doctrinal differences, right and wrong interpretation of scriptures, political opinions, views and differences, and “this person is grace person”, “that person is legalist ” and “she said that, he said this….” – the list goes on and on – I say, that is duality, false dichotomy, and narrow perspective.
Ephesians 3:14-16 tells us “that we… speaking the truth in love (concerning who we are in Christ – righteous, holy, beloved, without spot) may grow up in all things into Him who is the Head – Christ – from whom the whole body… every joint supplies… causes growth of the body for the edifying (building up) of itself in love“. It’s so important to be connected to the Head who is Christ. When we lost our focus from Jesus as our Head and focused on something else (or someone else), we got cut off from the life source which flows from the Head.
Colossians 2:18-19 says the same thing – that if we gets sidetracked by religion (and differences in doctrines, political opinions, and what people said this or this, etc), we would lose hold of the Head “from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God“. The solution, then, is to hold fast to the Head, and partake from the tree of life instead of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
God does not reside in Duality! “Hear, O Israel, the Lord thy God is ONE!” (Deuteronomy 6:4) The nature of His being is in the ONE. To constantly partake of from that tree, aka “the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” is to constantly live in the realm of duality.
As long as all things are subjectively appearing to us as sometimes good and sometimes evil, then we are still in the realm of Death.
May we all then continue to feed on the tree of life, who is Jesus our All in All. He is the Sustainer of all things and He holds all things together. (Colossians 1:16-17) 🙂
Blessings to you.
