John 1:29 Behold! The Lamb of God who Takes Away the Sin of the World!

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

What is this sin that Jesus, the Lamb of God, came to take away? Did God need to wait until Jesus died on the cross in order to forgive us? Jan Coetsee (from Durban, South Africa) shed some light to these questions.

Jan Coetsee:

“takes away the sin of the world”…

a lot of people think that statement has got to do with God all of a sudden forgiving us…..that’s not the case..God chose to see us “blameless”/forgive us even before we even were born or sinned..:

Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love

the point is to see as “God sees” us….we have to be totally open to the full “renewal” of our minds to be totally “restored” mentally into the realization of our true identity….Christ had to come so we could look at the cross daily and be “renewed”/”reminded” of our innocence daily so we could live fully and freely, every day again….

I believe “to take away the sin of the world”…was actually meaning to “renew” our minds of “condemnation” (sin dealt with in God’s mind)…. so we could look at what He has done (“died for us”) and know our innocence because of His sacrifice…

Christ was God’s open declaration of our innocence…the patterns of this world (the god of this world)…has blinded the eyes of the people for ages….Christ came to shed light on the “darkness” (mental darkness) and make us see as He sees again (fullness)….it is written:

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind♥. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s WILL is♥–his good, pleasing and perfect WILL…

You see, there has been this misconception between “religious” leaders and people for ages..we were taught that God is this “mean” God waiting for every chance to punish us and eventually send us to a “lake of eternal fire”… we have been taught that God is not love….this is why many people have walked away from church and God…because of religion….hell, satan, turn or burn, gnashing of teeth, wrath, anger, condemnation, punish, hate….these are but a few things that have been taught over the years my majority of churches and individual leaders….this not only caused many to walk away from church, but from God as well….I don’t blame them….that was most definately not “good news”….the good news is all inclusive news…that proclaims God’s kindness and love…this is what changes people’s hearts…not “turn or burn”….it is written:

Romans 2:4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

Now that’s the gospel people….if it isn’t about how “sinfree” or pure or beautiful and perfect God sees ALL of mankind…then it’s the wrong gospel….

When John said there is the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world….I believe the true meaning was to take away the condemnation of sins in man’s mind…hence my expression:

The total renewal of man’s mind…

“fallen adam”(mental fall/unawareness of true identity)…renewed to the full “LOGOS” of God’s perfect creation….RISEN spiritually in Christ(renewed to the realization)…

Jesus even speaks to Nicodemis about being “re born”….I believe He also means the “renewal” of the mind here……

God was never separated from us…it was our minds that were separated from Him….

Jesus came to restore our minds (take the sin away mentally)…we were asleep….there for it is written:

for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

May we look at the cross…may we look and see why Jesus died…may we be “re born”….me we let Him let us be full renewed mentally to the full realization of our true identity…may we come to the conclusion of every single person’s inclusion…..may we see that God had a plan that was bigger than our “sin”…

may we breath out “the lie”…

and breath in “the truth”..

Streams of living waters running from The Father’s very own heart…

receive and be renewed….to give and renew…..one1
