The horrible earthquake in northern Japan– 3-11-2011 is already being heralded as a sign that we are in the last days! Dispensationalists will be telling us more and more that such events are sure signs that the end is near. But, that is not true!
In this video, I prove that the horrible devastation of the Japanese quake is not a sign of the imminent end, and, it is not a judgment from God on Japan! This is a special, important video!

The following are my views:
From a geological point of view, earthquakes are fairly common throughout the centuries. They might appear more common nowadays only because scientists today have modern instruments to detect earthquake occurrences, and news get travelled around quickly by mass media, including the internet, so more people become aware of what happened in other countries. Otherwise, earthquakes are just natural occurrences that have been around for ages, and I have come to learn that many evangelical christians or dispensationalists are over-reacting to earthquakes, because of their erroneous belief in “second coming” doctrines.
According to USGS (United States Geological Survey):
“Although it may seem that we are having more earthquakes, earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or greater have remained fairly constant throughout this century and, according to our records, have actually seemed to decrease in recent years.
There are several reasons for the perception that the number of earthquakes, in general, and particularly destructive earthquakes is increasing.
1) A partial explanation may lie in the fact that in the last twenty years, we have definitely had an increase in the number of earthquakes we have been able to locate each year. This is because of the tremendous increase in the number of seismograph stations in the world and the many improvements in global communications.”
Here’s another article that offers food for thought – the mass media tends to hype up or focus on news about earthquakes because bad news sell:
“The statistics and geological data seem to point to the fact that everything seems to be normal in terms of frequency – it’s just that the quakes have been happening in densely populated areas as opposed to uninhabited wastelands like in past years. Changes in the Earth’s geology and the forces that govern it don’t just change in a matter of a year. The concept of a year is a human construct that the inanimate Earth is not aware of. For a piece of rock that has been around for over five billion years, a few years shouldn’t really be that big a deal.
And yes, the terror persists since that is what sells. The media have traditionally hyped drastic changes to get more mileage in the story only to pull the details and other punches. The fear is what makes the news sexy and what makes the public catch on. The media has spun many stories just to create undue alarm – the stories about the African Killer Bees in America, super pathogens, and even the Millennium Bug come to mind as the much-bandied-about never-was-apocalyptic stories that the press came up with.”
So, let us all be rational and not to be carried away by so-called end-time prophecies, and instead offer our help and prayers to those who are affected by earthquakes in whatever way we can.
