see the black man, see the white man / see the wrong man, see the right man
all of these categories are not reality / we all share a common identity, you are me
see the good man, see the bad man / see the saved man, see the damned man
judging others judges you, let me jog your memory / remember the family tree? you are me
you are me. we’re light / but you’ve chosen to live blindly in lies
coz to see will cost you all you idolize / it is really gonna blow your disguise
with equality springing up before your eyes/ one man is standing up right before your eyes
why does it disturb you when i say every man’s offense has been taken away?
and why does it enrage you when i say let’s share love and peace and grace or haven’t you got any to give away?
you have chosen to live blindly in lies coz to see will cost you all you idolize
and it is really gonna blow your disguise with unity there springing up before your eyes
one man is standing up right before your eyes and everything’s alright
i saw mountains tumble down and valleys rise up
it was the great universal equalizer / a new law of nature wrapped the earth like a sea
and its atmosphere affects the human race equally
so now i’m hearing weeping, i hear gnashing of teeth / it is you realizing you’re not preferred over me
and all the staircases you bought somehow seem to have left you a little short now that you are me
we’re light / we are family / we’re all beautiful and free
we are redeemed humanity / when will you dare to see that you are me?
you are me, we’re light.
