The Force of Love

Someone once said “Even if the man Jesus never existed, I’ve have no doubt that the Force of Love existed, and continues to exist in the universe”, in response to a question about whether the man Jesus ever existed.

I think that is a great answer since love exists in this world and I believe each of us experiences love, whether it is friendship, family, romantic love, etc ,and believes in love too. We can see that love is all around us. Even in the animal kingdom, we witness instances of love in various forms. For example, eagles mate for life, which speaks of romantic and faithful love. A mother hen would protect her chicks under her wings from harm and danger – a picture of self-sacrificial and motherly love.

In any society around the world, we see instances of love being demonstrated in everyday life too, such as brotherly and sisterly love when people show acts of kindness and compassion to one another, regardless of race, language or religion. Different people may call love by a certain name or associate love with different ideologies that make sense to them, but the essence of love is the same. Love is kind and patient, does no harm to a neighbour, and keeps no records of wrongs. Love may never die – religious people may try to kill Love, but Love will come back again from the dead to win us over to its power.

Jimi Hendrix once said:

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”

Love never fails. Indeedn, what remains is faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love, which transcends knowledge and all other vibrations or levels of consciousness. May we behold the Force of Love. Love is Spirit. Love is energy. Some may call Love “God”, while others call Love “the Great Spirit”.

For example, Big thunder (Bedagi) Wabanaki Algonquin, a native American Indian, said:

“The Great Spirit is in all things, he is in the air we breathe. The Great Spirit is our Father, but the Earth is our Mother. She nourishes us, that which we put into the ground she returns to us.”

Love knows no boundaries and does not separate people into different groups or denominations. Those who call themselves atheists may profess to not believe in God, but as long as they believe in Love, they are indirectly believing in God, except that they may not call Love by that name. As for those who believe Jesus exists, they may say that Jesus is Love personified. And as for those who don’t believe the man Jesus ever existed, they would acknowledge the Force of Love existed, and will continue to exist in the universe.

Peace and Namaste!
