Description: Authoritarian Abuse, aka, spiritual abuse, is a prevalent, ongoing problem in many segments of the church, especially in the Neo-Pentecostal stream, in which the leadership system and culture employs ungodly and scripturally-prohibited domination and control of their members. In this series of programs, Host Dr. Steven Lambert, addresses this controversial problem.

I have listened to the message in the website – I agree with the speaker that agape love from God is unconditional, and is not the kind of conditional love displayed by authoritarian preachers who expect followers to be conformed to their belief systems to be accepted. Overall, it is a good message and I agree with most of the things except the part about alienation from God, which I believe is in the mind and not actual separation.

I believe most religions prevent the direct connection to God, instead insisting that their particular religion is the only path. That in itself is spiritual abuse.

Yes, especially when the religious adherents’ insisting is accompanied with threats of hell and damnation. Most, if not all, of us are subject to religious conditionings, and it takes courage to question them.

Thanks for commenting. Peace and blessings.

Thanks Jimmy for your comments. Yes, it takes great courage to face our beliefs and question their validity in our individual lives. I am no longer afraid, because I know the time has come for many of us to seek our own truth, rather than blindly follow what has always been.

That is true, Victoria. I believe spiritual awakening is happening around the world. Blessings.
